Celebration of Life
Donation protected
It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of our beloved Garlette Dawn Seifer. Not only was she a mother, daughter, sister and friend, she was a 18 year military veteran and true warrior. Despite her personal health conditions (Diabetes, Lupus, etc..), she lived life her way and didn’t allow her illnesses to hold her back from doing what she loved. Garlette fought through all of her illnesses she received while on Active Duty Army and through all the ups and downs she managed her health. One thing she would say, “don't worry about me I am good” even on her worst day. She leaves behind her one and only daughter, her mother, three sisters, only brother and new grandson.
This is a very difficult time for the Seifer/Lewis family and we are all devastated but we’ve come together to ensure she has a well deserved celebration of life. We are currently planning to have her remains transported from Texas back home to Chicago where she belongs (as soon as possible). Unfortunately, as a disabled, military veteran, VA financial support is slim to none. The VA does not cover transportation or funeral expenses for retirees. Therefore, we are financially responsible for all expenses.

Use of Funds:
- The cost to transport her body from Texas to Chicago.
- The cost to pack her home and move her personal belongings back to Chicago.
- All home going arrangements and service fees (ie: funeral home expenses, mortuary expenses, etc..)
