U15 OCHL Hawks and KAMHA Canadians fight Cancer
Donation protected
On Jan 20 the U15 OCHL Hawks are traveling to Kingston to play the KAMHA Canadians at the Leon Centre as part of the Kingston Frontenacs Rink of Dreams game. Afterward, we will be attending the Oshawa Generals vs Frontenacs game. The Kingston Canadians suffered a terrible loss of a young family member in December 2021 after a long battle with cancer. In memory of this young person and anyone who has suffered, KAMHA has set a goal of raising $10,000 to donate to the Canadian Cancer Society and Hockey Fights Cancer.
The OCHL suffered our own terrible loss in 2022 after lifelong volunteer and board member Bill Swindells lost his battle with cancer. Based on this along with everyone’s battles I would like to take up a collection in the name of Bill Swindells and OCHL families to present to The Kingston Canadians and KAMHA at the Frontenacs game. Cancer has no team affiliation and affects everyone at some point in their lives. Whether it be family, friends, or themselves. This is a battle that everyone must fight together regardless of the jersey we wear. We are setting a goal of $2500 but we see no reason to stop there. Let's come together as the Oshawa Community Hockey League work alongside the Kingston Area Minor Hockey League and help beat this terrible disease.
