I'm Alex
I'm a sixth form student, at Blessed Robert Sutton School. I am going on an expedition, with Camps International, to Peru in the summer of 2019 to help the countries, underdeveloped communities. I've set myself a target of raising the money by the end of 2018 so that the fundraising will not interfere with my A-level studies and revision in 2019.
The reason why these people need our help is because; 54% of these rural communities live under the poverty line, 33% of under 15s are employed in very low paying jobs and not in education, and 18% are malnourished and lacking in fresh fruit and vegetables.
Your money will help generations of children and toddlers, by funding the building of schools and nurseries. Your money will go to the building of vitally needed homes so the people of the communities can have somewhere to live, as well as improving healthcare by installing and developing local amenities. To battle malnourishment, I will be physically building a communal greenhouse for the community; this will supply fresh vegetables all year round, and to supply water to these plants, as well as homes and animals, your money will fund the digging of irrigation channels from the mountains.
I do need your help!
I'm dedicating the whole of 2018 in making sure I raise the required amount of money; I will be sacrificing weekends pot-washing at my local pub, The Mill Wheel, where I will be selling; jams, pickles and other jarred items, I'll be sponsored bike rides other sponsored events; and in summer, gardening services and dog walking.
I'm also contacting local companies to sponsor me (not had any luck here yet so if you know of anyone please let me know)
It is a big ask from Camps international to raise the huge amount of money and even with all the activities above I have committed to in any spare time, I know I'm going to struggle without help.
I really appreciate any donations big or small.
