IN MEMORY OF:

JACOB THOMAS BIRD

(MARCH 24, 2003 - JULY 5, 2021)

Jacobs Story Video

The loss of a child is the greatest pain no parent and family should have to experience. Unfortunately for the family of, Jacob Thomas Bird, this experience became a reality. Jacobs' father, Brandon Bird (Marine Corps Veteran - Former Firefighter - EMT turned business owner of Bulldog Pub & Grub), his mother, Shannan Bird (RN: Labor & Delivery - Co-Owner Bulldog Pub & Grub) and brother Ryan Bird received the news of Jacobs' passing the day after celebrating July 4th Independence Day Celebrations.

The Birds' family story is absolutely amazing! They started a feed the cops and first responders program at Bulldog Grub & Pub that has fed over 3000 first responders and every law enforcement agency in Northern Colorado several times. Unfortunately, like many other businesses, they were severely impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Now, after months of battling to keep their business, family and lives on track, they're now left to battle the challenges of losing their beloved son & brother, Jacob Thomas Bird. There is no greater challenge than the death of a child, and no greater time for support than now.

Jacob Thomas Bird was definitely a branch off the family tree. Jacob had a freak accident a year ago that left him with a compound break of his Tibia & Fibula in an open fracture through the skin. The leg then became infected and his leg was almost lost, very similar to the NFL Quarterback, Alex Smith. Jake had eight surgeries and spent months in the hospital enduring extensive PT, but was finally cleared for football in May after fighting so very hard. He recently graduated High School with honors along with a 3.8 GPA Cum Laude and excelled in numerous sports. Jacob then accepted a scholarship to play football at a Christian College, Nebraska Wesleyan University. He was looking forward to a bright future playing football in college and starting his adult life making a difference in the world. He was an incredible blessing from the day he was born. Jake had the biggest heart, warmest smile and provided the most genuine hugs. He gave everything to those he loved and cared for. This is why it is with deepest sorrow that we announce without any signs or warnings, on July 5th, he had a rare and sudden pulmonary embolism that killed him suddenly. Jakes' generous spirit, warm heart and laughter will be forever missed. His passing will leave a tremendous hole in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be terribly missed by all of those that new him. But most of all by his best friend and little brother, Ryan Bird.

We are asking for your support and contributions to help the Bird family during their time of need and grief with your generous contributions. They are not only struggling with Jacobs' absence, but are also struggling with a mountain of medical bills, living expenses that occur for time off work to grieve and numerous other expenses that occur when struggling with the loss of a child. Your support can make all the difference in the lives of this family, that they themselves have made a difference in the lives of many others through selfless contributions of their own. Life is never the same but making an effort to reduce the struggle is monumental. Your donations and contributions will go a long ways in helping this family during some incredibly troubling times.
