Tzununa School (Maya's Dream)

Donation protected
Here on the majestic shore of Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, something special is taking form. A school is being created to bring contemporary textile and fashion design students to learn from and collaborate with skilled artisans who have been handing down the indigenous technique of Mayan weaving for generations.

The Tzununa School for Creative and Native Arts seeks to be at the forefront of bringing the ancient weaving technique of the Guatemalans into the world of high fashion and textile design. In the process, we will be creating jobs for locals, as well as a scholarship opportunity for local talent to study at the school.

The costs of building this school and getting it ready to take in students is extensive. At the moment we have a piece of land on Lake Atitlan and a big dream. We are seeking the funds necessary to take care of the bureaucracy to register as a non-profit organization both in the United States and in Guatemala, as well as several other expenses involved in starting this business and marketing ourselves to potential large backers. Once we have our 501(c)(3), we will send you a receipt, since your donation will be tax-deductible.

As a small token of our appreciation, for a $1000 donation, we will host you for a week at the school after it opens.
For every $100 donation, we will mail you a t-shirt in the winter. Here's an example of what it will look like.
