Ty Ty Whisler Medical Fund

Ty Whisler just turned 10 years old. On the first day of school he went to class, met his new teacher, hung out with friends and after school played his first soccer game of the season. A blow to the head during that game led Ty to the Emergency Room which then led to a frightening diagnosis. Doctors discovered that Ty has a brain tumor called medulloblastoma. Ty underwent major brain surgery just a few days later and will start his long road to recovery through radiation and chemotherapy treatment very soon.
From what the doctors are saying, this is not going to be a quick process. Ty's brain tumor is considered to be "high risk" which means he will need a lengthy treatment, more hospitalizations, possibly more surgery, ongoing physical and occupational therapy, home schooling, and possibly other services which are yet unknown. The medical costs from just the initial ER visits, surgery and ICU stay have already reached into the tens of thousands of dollars. There is no option for radiation or chemotherapy treatment in the Tahoe area - so that means Ty will need to travel to either the Bay Area or possibly farther across the country for weeks at a time to receive the best treatment and care available.
The implications of all the medical bills, travel to treatment, loss of wages, and other associated costs are already becoming a huge financial and emotional burden for the Whislers.
