A star was born on February 17, 1988 at Hartford Hospital at 7 lb, 13 oz and was named Tyrone Bernard Kelly. Tyrone was very charismatic, genuine, caring, goofy, and he joked around all day; can that boy ever be serious? Yes he can! He was serious about God! Tyrone was a God-fearing man who wasn’t ashamed to shout his love for our heavenly Father and Lord and savior Jesus Christ!

Tyrone can turn a cry into a smile in a minute. He was a protector and mentor, so many looked up to him. Tyrone was very family oriented and he loved to be around his family more than anything. Tyrone loved him some milk. He can drink a whole gallon of milk a day. He also loved him some noodles and cereal which he can eat at any time of day. Tyrone loved WWE as a child. He could sit for hours playing with his action figures.

His beginning years started at Sheldon Oaks in Hartford where his grandparents Esther and Santo Claudio lived. This is the place where he grew up with many of his friends he still has today and are called family! His cousin/sister Shantavia remembers a time they were going to a field trip that required a towel and she forgot hers, but he had his, but he still ran all the way back to their grandparent’s home to grab hers and got back just in time for the bus. That’s how fast he was!

Tyrone was very spoiled, but you can just say he was tremendously loved. And he knew he was spoiled! Especially with his grandmother Mary Williams, which he got mostly everything from when he asked.

In 1997 he moved to Oakland Heights in Manchester where he started playing football. He quickly grew a love for sports and would play football with all the kids in the complex. He loved the NFL Cowboys.

Tyrone started off with Midget Football for the Raiders in Manchester.  He also played with the Connecticut Panthers (CTP) and Hartford Whalers. He was a natural! That boy was fast! The talk of the football legend Tyrone Kelly started from there.

Once Tyrone entered Manchester High School, whispers became screams. He broke so many records as a Freshman he was one of the best running backs in Connecticut. He also played with the Connecticut Panthers (CTP) and Hartford Whalers.

Tyrone was an “All-Star Football Player” consistently breaking records that is still standing at #19 on the State Board for most yards in a season with 2,064 yards in 2003. Also #14 in the record books with the most touchdowns in his career with 60 touch downs.

Tyrone’s first job was at McDonalds at age 16. Tyrone had many other small accomplishments and certificates which included Billing and Coding and Pharmacy Technician. He also attended Southern Connecticut State University. One of his first big jobs was at ProCare, delivering oxygen tanks to the elderly. When Tyrone walked through the door, the elderly loved him, and he put the biggest smiles on their faces. They looked forward to his presence every day.

In 2012 Tyrone received his CDL from NETTS. That’s when he began his new love of driving trucks. One great quality about Tyrone was he always kept a job. If he lost his job today, he’ll have another job tomorrow. He was always on his grind! Tyrone always had a get-rich-quick-scheme. He stayed with ideas in ways to take EVERYONE to the top! He knew if HE made it, EVERYONE would be good.

Tyrone had a love for music and writing poems. He had a way with words. He wasn’t a singer but loved to sing. And every time he called his mom, he will sing Boyz II Men A Song for Mama. He expanded his love for music by creating his own record label called Toxic Gang. Tyrone always had big dreams and believed in so many people, that many people believed in him. And because of that, he became a Manager of many.

Tyrone biggest accomplishment in life was the most rewarding one of them all which was becoming a father. When Julius mother Melanie Diaz found out she was pregnant, she was so scared, but Tyrone was so happy smiling ear to ear and immediately took care of his family. The love he had for his son cannot be measured. Their bond was something so pure and rich. Julius is already so much like him. From the physical attributes to his mannerism; from that beautiful smile to the same contagious laugh; from their favorite times together playing video games or cracking jokes on each other to play fighting; and of course, their favorite: football and eating.

Tyrone Bernard Kelly’s legacy will carry on through his son and family!

Please continue to pray for the family!
