Hello,
My name is Jenny Baldwin and I am pleading for your help, to assist the families that are severely affected by the massive flooding in Cagayan and Isabela, Philippines.
The province where I grew up ( Isabela) and it's neighbor (Cagayan) were submerged by floodwaters last Friday, November 13th, brought by the Typhoon Vamco (Ulysses) and the enormous volume of water discharged from Magat Dam, one of the biggest dams in the Philippines. Late Friday night, thousands of families were caught by surprise as floodwaters continued to rise and flooded their homes. In the dark, with water quickly rising around them, families were heard screaming and appealing for help. They were trapped in their homes and many of them seeked refuge on their rooftops with no food and water. Most of these families are also farmers whose crops ( rice and corn) were already destroyed by the recent typhoons even before they are harvested. They rely heavily on their harvest for their food and other family needs. I believe that any assistance we can extend to these families would help them rise from this devastating calamity.
As of Sunday, according to the government officials at least 43, 838 families in Cagayan and 36,060 families in Isabela were affected. Unfortunately, they were also people who lost their lives due to drowning.
I created this fundraiser for the families severely affected in Cagayan and Isabela. The funds that will be collected will go directly to the Diocesan Social Action Center- Ilagan, INC and the Diocese of Cagayan. It will be use to provide food, water and other necessities for these families who are in dire need.
I appeal to each one of you today to please help these families live again. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Sharing and spreading this fundraiser will also go a long way.
Thank you very much for your support, kindness, trust and generosity.
May God be with you,
Jenny Barcarse Baldwin
