Tyler's "Brain Balance" Tuition

Hello family and friends!! I hope I am finding everyone to be well. My son Tyler is rapidly approaching his 8th birthday in May. Time sure has flown by! Tyler has turned into such an outstanding young man and loving individual. He enjoys spending time with family, making friends, playing sports and riding his bike. He is extremely caring and wears his heart on his sleeve. I cannot imagine a life without him in it.
Some of you may know this already, but for those of you who may not know or do not know the extent of it, I will now briefly share why it is I am starting this Go Fund Me project. Tyler has struggled from the age of about 4-4 ½ with impulse control, anger management, and behavioral related issues. With the assistance of a few outstanding programs and psychologists/counselors, Tyler has made huge strides over the last 4 years in managing these issues. Due to Tyler’s age, he has advanced out of the lower level behavioral programs and is in need of the next stage, age appropriate plan. Tyler has made such progression over the last 4 years, but has fallen a bit behind for the last 5-6 months due to not having an age appropriate program to transition into. Up until now, I have enrolled Tyler in these behavioral programs and counseling sessions, in hopes to avoid using medication. I am not particularly fond of the idea of medicating Tyler for his set-backs, because I fear the average ADHD/attention disorder medications that he would most likely be prescribed will rob him of his personality and who he is as a growing kiddo. To continue with this vision for him, I have found an absolutely wonderful next stage program for Tyler!! The program center is called “Brain Balance” and I am fortunate enough to have a location in Omaha that I can utilize.
I am especially invested in the philosophy surrounding this program not only because it is a non-medication approach, but it is also a full spectrum/long term correction program. At Brain Balance, they retrain the actual hemispheres of the child’s brain using physical therapy, occupational therapy, vestibular therapy, vision therapy and strict dietary plans. This allows the average child to complete a 3 month program of 3 times a week hands on sessions with all of the necessary therapists and specialists. Most kiddo’s are naturally more “left or right” brained depending on behaviors and symptoms they present. For example: Tyler is Left brain dominate (controls things like academic ability, strategizing and critical thinking) yet he is severely right brain underdeveloped. Right brain controls things like behavior, impulse control, spatial relations and peer –peer interactions. In the 3 months Tyler will be placed in the program, Tyler’s hemispheres of his brain (in his case mainly right side) will be trained to work together and have an equal amount of efficiency. This is what will make the treatment so valuable for Tyler because once those hemispheres are re-trained it is a life-long “fix”. My role as a parent is to integrate the system into our lives at home as well, so after Tyler “graduates” I will continue with certain portions of the program so Tyler may continue to succeed as he gets older.
Now that you all have a grasp on what Tyler needs assistance with and how the program will significantly improve his ability to grow and learn at an age appropriate level, I will now inform you of the financial logistics. The 3 month program tuition is $6000. The only payment plan they have available is a payment plan of $275/month for 20-22 months. I have been a single parent to Tyler in both parental rights and financially since he was born. I have not had a chance to finish my education yet (mainly due to money, time, and not wanting to miss Tyler’s infancy/toddler stage) and have not received child support of any kind from my ex/Tyler’s father. I wish deeply that I could afford the $275 monthly payment on top of my existing expenses, however; with only one income and other expenses for his Catholic School tuition, programs and sport leagues, I simply cannot make it feasible at this time. I am towards the end of a very lengthy process to start getting child support payments, but the process has been a bit “dragged out” and I honestly do not know when it will be completed. In the meantime, I would ideally like to get Tyler started at Brain Balance as soon as possible.
I am usually not inclined to ask others for help…especially financial help, however; I cannot at this point see any other way for Tyler to start up the program. I completely understand that everyone has their own lives and expenses for their families. I one hundred percent understand if you cannot contribute anything at all. I completely understand and still love you just the same!! If you are able to contribute, please don’t be concerned so much with the end goal of the full $6000. The Brain Balance program has an option where if I can even place a down payment of about $800-900, I can at least get him started and finish up the payments for continuing sessions at a later date. I may also have my child support payments coming in which would put me in a position to set up a monthly plan in the near to distant future. If you are able to donate, any little bit would help, and I GREATLY appreciate everyone who either decides to contribute or just sends some good vibes J
THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE AND I APPRECIATE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU WHO ARE TAKING THE TIME TO EVEN READ THIS FOR TYLER.
Tyler has my entire heart and I am so very blessed to have him as my son. I love that little guy to the moon and back and would like to give him every possible advantage for him to succeed in his life.

Cheers,
Jennifer and Tyler
