Tyler Trowbridge Kicks Heroin Fund

Donation protected
3-17-18

Your contributions, love, and support are working! Three short weeks after starting this gofundme, so much has changed for Tyler.

Major highlights:
He is receiving medical treatment for his addiction as well as counseling service.

We started off in a motel but were just able to get him his own studio apartment which he moved into on 3-14-18. We spent the first day cleaning it from top to bottom and have been working daily since to make it into a cozy place of his own. So many have stepped forward to bring him apartment goods!

He has begun working! He loves to stay busy and is a hard worker. He can do most types of construction work and really enjoys tile work.

I'm proud of him for taking hard steps to completely disconnect from his former life. He wants to stay clean and he wants accountability. He has added me to his hippa form and gets so excited for me to see his clean drug tests. I'm amazed by him EVERY SINGLE DAY.

To everyone who has taken a chance on him, sent him your best wishes, donated your time and money, he appreciates you more that you could ever know.

I will be posting regular updates here .

Picture a friend sent me a few moments ago with message, "He is a hard worker. He will beat this disease. He is so determined!"

Those who know Tyler Trowbridge of Grant, Michigan and even those who do not were heartbroken to see the WoodTV 8 story that came out about his 15 year addiction to heroin, his homelessness, and desperate struggle to get his life back.

Tyler is fortunate to have the support of addiction specialists and local nonprofits. The specialist I spoke with has worked with Tyler for five years and feels there is still hope for him. She is encouraged by the public response of those who know Tyler and recommends he begins a long-term treatment plan. Completion of drug rehabilitation, secure housing and employment are vital to keeping an addict from relapse.

The cost of treatment for Tyler will be covered; the $7,500 we are asking for will be used to secure housing, as well as furniture, food, and other incidentals. Additionally, he has expensive dental needs. We cannot stress enough that no money or objects of value will be given directly to Tyler. Data shows this would only increase his odds of over dosing. Our goal is to make sure that he has the best possible chance of staying clean upon completing rehabilitation.

Equally important to monetary support are acts of kindness and words of encouragement for Tyler. He is a great person with a kind soul and he deserves our love and support as he heals. Please consider commenting with your words of encouragement!

We will update this page after we have other specifics on ways people can help. Let's show Tyler our love!
