Tyler, Sofia and Luke Castricone Scholarship Fund

Thank you so much for everyone’s overwhelming support for the Castricone family during this incredibly difficult time. Friends and family have created a gofundme page to create a scholarship fund for Tyler, Sofia and Luke.

Message from Kaydee:

It is with a shattered heart, that I post the following update about my family. Just 6.5 days ago, while driving home from Oregon, we were in a horrific accident that has changed our lives forever. I still can’t breathe. I lost both Andy and Nicole in the accident. Luke was critically injured and is currently at Stanford Children’s hospital ICU. Sofia, Tyler, and I survived with minor physical injuries.

Andy is the love of my life now and forever; he rescued me. He was, and still is from above, a phenomenal husband and father. He dedicated his whole self to us and taught us all through his example what unconditional love really is. Nicole made me a mom. She gave me strength. She was and forever will be my “bestie”, “shotty” (still unclear on the meaning of this); my mini-me. Andy and Nicole gave my life purpose and helped me develop my why; to build a strong family unit that loves fiercely and affectionately with lots of chaos, laughter, singing and dancing. I feel blessed that they were mine and I was theirs. They will always be our guiding light.

Luke is a rockstar. He is so strong, and in just five days, he has had multiple surgeries but is moving his extremities and finally able to communicate now that his breathing tube has been removed. He opens his eyes now and says he loves me. His sense of humor is still very much intact.

Tyler and Sofia are incredibly strong and brave and are doing extremely well considering these horrific circumstances. They are physically healing, but the emotional road ahead will be long.

I can’t tell you how proud I am of all three.

We feel your support and love. The offers of support have been tremendous, and I promise we will need more help in the coming weeks/months. Right now, it is day by day, hour by hour, one foot in front of the other. We are beyond grateful – and I know Andy and Nicole are too.

A facebook group (In Loving Memory of Andy and Nicole) has been set up for comments, posts, and photos. It will also be a place where updates will be posted to streamline communication.

As of now there are no exact plans for services as we monitor Luke’s recovery timeline. We do plan to have a Catholic mass in mid to late August, and we also plan to have a Celebration of Life sometime in September and will, of course, communicate details once we have a clearer idea of the dates.
