Tyler Campbell, age 37 of Tyler Campbell Cattle, suffered a severe stroke on March 6, 2019.  He lost feeling on one side of his body, called 911, and after evaluation and treatment at the Wayne County Hospital, Tyler was life flighted on to the University of Iowa Neuro Unit. The Neuro Team determined a dissected internal carotid to be the cause of Tyler's stroke. Tyler has undergone a craniectomy to relieve inter cranial  pressure often associated with patients of stroke who have suffered a traumatic brain injury.  Tyler has remained alert, and continues to display determination and tenacity as he faces this ordeal.  The stroke affected his speech communication skills and mobility on one side.

After continued improvement at the University of Iowa Hospital, Tyler was accepted at the On With Life brain injury rehabilitation speciality center in Ankeny, Iowa and was transferred there on March 18, 2019. On With Life provides structured physical therapy, occupational and speech therapy. The goal is to help Tyler regain his independence, move back home and continue his cattle business.   He is considered a young stroke victim, and has the advantage of youth on his side when it comes to rehabilitation.

The road ahead is uncertain and daunting. Tyler and his family need our support to help see them through the challenges and obstacles they are facing.  Tyler's spirit is strong and his will to succeed is undeterred. He has experienced a terrible injury and it will take time, patience and ongoing support to help him continue to live his life freely and on his own.

We are reaching out to the community to help offset some of Tyler's medical expenses. The length of Tyler's care is, as yet, undetermined. It is costly and at the same time essential.

Tyler works hards, likes to share a good joke, is devoted to his friends and family and offers help when it is needed.  Please share this far and wide across the community to help get the message out and provide assistance for Tyler and his family. Please donate.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
