Dear Loved Ones,

Thank you for being part of our journey as individuals and as a couple. You’ve played a unique and loving role in our lives, and we wouldn’t be the same without you.

You have been there to celebrate our victories and cheered us on in times of defeat. We come to you from a place that lands between the two.

Our engagement has lasted a bit longer than we had anticipated. Getting engaged during the first week of lockdown during a global pandemic is a great story to share with our children and grandchildren. The economic ripples of the virus lasted well past two years, with wedding venues being unavailable, followed by fierce competition to book one when things opened.

We have wanted the October 9 date since our engagement, but a lot has happened in the last two months.

Tyler experienced a change in his pay grade, all while still driving to Columbus daily during a time of historical gas prices.

Lillian has experienced debilitating symptoms of an illness that doctors are still trying to diagnose and has not been able to work since March. She is hopeful that a new medical team and care plan will help her improve enough to return to work.

These setbacks have been very discouraging, as you can imagine. We have always envisioned a small, intimate gathering to start our marriage journey. You are included in this request because we consider you an essential part of this day and our personal history. Our goal for the perfect day is to be married with immediate family as witnesses, followed by a beautiful gathering of our loved ones to celebrate.

We aren’t sure that can happen without help with financial challenges.

Having lived together for five years, we have all the household items we need. What we most desire is to share our special day with you as we begin our new life journey.
