Tyler & Meagan’s Hurricane Relief

For many reasons, I had hoped to never need to set up a GoFundMe account for a natural disaster, but the severity of the circumstances following Hurricane Florence has led me to set up this page for my oldest son and his wife. Before I start, let me say, Praise the Lord and in all situations, give glory to Him!
My oldest son Tyler and his wife, Meagan, of a year-and-a-half live here in Emerald Isle—the tiny coastal town he grew up in. They are just starting out and proudly call home a little 1967 trailer on a leased lot. Tyler is a Freight Services Associate at Transportation Impact, a parcel negotiation company here in town, and Meagan is a housekeeper, dog nanny, and college student. They are also volunteers in our community, doing weekly litter pick-up on the beach for the Surfrider Foundation.
During Hurricane Flo, two trees went through their trailer. One crushed their bedroom and laundry shed. The other punctured their living room. The damage is severe and their home is not livable. Praise the Lord, they had evacuated during the storm.
A building contractor helped us determine that the trailer is a total loss due to mold, mildew, and related water damage. (And the copperhead that fell out of the ceiling was not a great sign!)
As a result, we will now allocate funding toward the purchase of a new, affordable, entry-level single-wide trailer for Tyler and Meagan.
Additionally, we will remove large tree stumps and weakened trees that are now not as sturdy in the ground; replace a storage shed; replace fencing sections; and replace furnishings, bed, clothing, and other destroyed household items. The funds will also be used to provide financial relief from home and auto payments as Tyler and Meagan work hard to get back on their feet.
During this time, their faith in God has never wavered and we all feel blessed beyond measure for our safety and health. May God Bless y’all and yours! Joy B.
