Tyler Absher's Road To Recovery

On July 28, 2018 our lives changed forever. Our son Tyler Absher was in a horrific moto cross accident at Budd’s Creek Moto cross track located in Budds Creek, Maryland. Tyler has loved dirt bikes since he was very young. His passion for the sport is second to none. He rode and he rode and he rode.
This life changing event brought our family to our knees. Sometime in the afternoon, our phones began ringing with messages regarding Tyler having a horrific crash. Pat immediately jumped in the truck and sped down to the track. Tyler was in very bad shape and was flown to Prince Georges Hospital Center Shock Trauma in Cheverly Maryland. He was very critical and was unconscious and intubated.
Tyler had to undergo 6 hours of surgery to remove his spleen and a portion of his pancreas that were damaged beyond repair. He also lost total blood flow to his left kidney which renders it non-functional. He had a head trauma, broken left arm, 6 broken ribs, and broken vertebrae in his neck and back. The trauma surgeon was touched by God and was able to correct the primary internal issues and stabilize Tyler. He was pretty much out of it for a week and a half. Tyler fought for his life in the critical care unit.
He is now on a long road to recovery. He will require several months of physical therapy as well as therapy for issues with short term memory due to the brain injury. We have exhausted all of our resources going to and from the hospital every day since the accident. Tyler will have many many bills incurred during the stay at the hospital and will incur more when going to the rehab facility.
So, anyone that knows Tyler, knows he is a very kind and giving person. He is also a private person and really does not ask for much, but Tyler and our family is in dire need of donations to continue to provide the support Tyler so deserves. So if you can find it in your heart to donate to our family in our time of need it would be greatly appreciated. Tyler has a long road ahead, and we want to ensure he has everything he needs to have a successful recovery.
