Emergency Guardianship!

Hello everyone, family friends and strangers, I have an urgent situation on my hands. I have been struggling to take care of this issue independently. But I’m tapped out on resources. I had the most wonderful and terrible week starting August 11. My mother had gone missing. I only found her because I was looking for her to go to my graduation. I found her by calling all of the local hospitals. She has an imperfect history and her own faults, but she has always tried to be a loving mother. She was hospitalized without anyone informing us with altered mental status. It is unclear as to whether or not she will fully recover. The doctors at ORMC believed it could’ve been due to a variety of reasons and that she could’ve suffered from lack of oxygen to the brain due to an arrhythmia or seizure. They were allowing me to make some decisions for her as medical proxy, however, as the decisions become more complex I am looking at becoming her temporary legal guardian. This requires an attorney in the state of Florida and comes with a fair amount of personal risk. I have to petition the courts and do so as soon as possible or else they may assign her some random individual. But she deserves to be treated humanely and to have somebody advocating for her. She wasn’t a perfect mother in my childhood or adulthood, but I can do my best to be a good daughter. She deserves to be clean, cared for, and treated medically with dignity and respect. As of right now, where she is currently placed that is not happening. I have secured an attorney, but I’m working on raising funds for the cost. This has come as a shock to my very small family. And many are unable to help. Please consider helping me help my mother. It would mean the world to me. As for why I haven’t funded this on my own I don’t mind sharing, we’ve returned several recently purchased items and gathered our small savings to work on this, but I’ve also had to take off of work for stress and practical reasons, so much of our funding is offsetting my temporary loss of income while I try to help my mom. I had also only just recently started work after finishing eight years of schooling so I haven’t gathered an emergency fund yet. Again, anything helps. She doesn’t recognize me in her current state, and lacks basic function. She was cognitively normal two weeks ago. I’m dealing with the personal shock,  and I refuse to let it stop me from protecting somebody in such a vulnerable state.
