Ty Williams is Done with Fibro!

This is my husband, Ty.  Prior to his diagnosis of fibromyalgia and chronic migraines, he was pastor of a small church in the Texas panhandle.  He has a big heart for God and a desire to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.  He loves serving others for the sake of Christ and to the Glory of God.  Prior to Ty's diagnosis, he would endure unexplained reoccurring "bouts of illness".  Over the span of a number of years, these bouts of illness would be treated with antibiotics and steroids as sinus infections, tonsillitis, or some other kind of viral or bacterial infection all the while coming on more frequently and taking longer to recover from. In 2015 a small tumor was found in his bladder which turned out to be malignant.  By the grace of God, it was found early and was able to be removed and treated, requiring only on-going check-ups to watch for any new problems. As the bouts of illness continued, attempting to gain long-term improvement in his health, Ty would endure an ablation of his tonsils, procedures on his sinus cavities, removal of his tonsils, allergy testing and treatments, etc.  However, his illnesses increased to the point of being down sick more than not, and never seeming to fully recover.  As his overall health declined, he was no longer able to work during the week and was barely able to make it through a Sunday morning service.  He began to have reoccurring urinary tract, bladder, and prostate infections which were now resistant to antibiotics.  Symptoms expanded to include increased pain, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, extreme fatigue, excessive sweating, and loss of short-term memory and cognitive function.  In addition to his primary care physician, he was regularly seeing urologists, cardiologists, rheumatologists, endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, so on and so forth.  Finally, in March of 2017, he went on medical leave as he could no longer even make it through worship service on Sunday mornings. Our great need for answers, and wonderful love and support from our church and family, took us to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  We spent one month at the Mayo Clinic seeing a large array of medical specialists and undergoing numerous tests.  We came home from the Mayo Clinic in May 2017 with the diagnosis of fibromyalgia and chronic migraines.  We are extremely blessed and grateful that the diagnosis is not terminal in nature.  While his condition is not life-threatening, it is certainly life-altering and incurable.  The Mayo Clinic educated us about the diagnosis, providing a clarity of what Ty was facing.  Due to the nature of his work and the effect of mental, emotional and physical stress on his condition, he resigned from his pastorate upon our return.  Our hope and desire was that Ty would be able to focus on his health and recovery and seek out what ministry God might have in store for him once able to do so again. However, he has spent the last 15 months seeking to gain improvement in his health to no avail.  He has seen little to no improvement from medication, and we continue to struggle in getting direction and guidance on where and how to gain any ground.  Ty is still unable  to work in any capacity,  unable to worship with his church family, or fellowship with friends and family.  We have sought out physicians, facilities, treatments and resources. In our search for help, we have now found The Bridge Recovery Center, located in Hurricane, Utah.  You can click here  to see more information about the facility and treatment.  The center brings together in one place eastern and western medicine to provide individualized holistic treatment.  The program is a three-week program where Ty will receive treatment daily from a variety of medical specialists as well as education in how to identify fibro and migraine triggers,  when and how to "push through" and when not to, managing nutrition and sleep problems for his condition, etc.  The center will help to identify and put into practice treatments and life-style changes so that Ty can regain his quality of life. The last several years have taken a toll on us financially as we incurred increasing medical expenses and decreased income due to Ty's condition.  As we struggle to make ends meet and pay existing medical bills, treatment for Ty at The Bridge will not be possible without your support.
