Enabling the Disabled

Greetings, we are students from the University of North Texas campaigning to raise money for people with disabilities. Our names are Marcus, Courtney, Kalei, and Lexus. This campaign is personal for us, as we each have people dear to us that have a disability.  The funds we raise will go to Helping Restore Ability, a non-profit that seeks to directly improve the lives of people with disabilities. Our goal is to raise $500 to assist HRA in providing care and resources to the disabled. Each of us strongly believe in our campaign and are very committed to helping people with disabilities live the life they deserve. 


Our mission is to raise awareness of inequalities faced by those with disabilities and to bridge the gap by making a single supportive and compassionate community. To have an equitable and accessible environment is essential for the growth of both disabled and able bodied youth. It is important that we are communicating and aiding with communities and families who do not have the resources they need to have a successful and/or independent life. With an emphasis on the voices of the disabled; we advocate to empower.


We will be partnering with Helping Restore Ability to help reinforce our social campaign. Helping Restore Ability (HRA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based out of Arlington, Texas. Their mission is to provide care and resources to people with disabilities so that they are able to live a full and independent life. HRA’s mission and values directly align with our own, which makes them a perfect partner for our campaign.

The impact we intend to offer will help people with disabilities grow to live an independent life. Through our help in funding HRA, disabled individuals will be able to get the home care needed, growth in intellectual development through one on one educating, provide supportive living situations, offer in home care for individuals who do not receive government support, and ensure veteran home care for those who have served at least 90 days of active duty, and at least one day during a war period. There are many types of disabled individuals who are eligible for assistance through HRA and with our funding help and raising, the assistance will grow to help and reach many through this community to ensure the disabled community are set up for success just the same as any other human.
