Scarborough Maternity Ward in Memory of Gypsy

James and I (Annika)  sadly lost our first Child Gypsy 28th October 2008 and on the 30th October 2008 in Scarborough Hospital she was born at 5.09am weighing 7lb12oz she was Stillborn

Scarborough Maternity were such a huge support to us during this Tragic and  Heart-breaking time, that we decided we wanted to do something in Memory of Gypsy and also to help other bereaved parents like ourselves. We are aiming to raise money for the Maternity Ward at Scarborough; our aim was £300 but we have exceeded this already and now have a new target of £1500. We would like to raise funds to help other parents who will go through the same/similar experience to us.

Saying hello & goodbye to their precious angels,  will take all their strength, we feel if we can help the hospital with funds, in turn it could help grieving families to make special memories. These memories are all us parents will ever have with our child and that is why it is so important for us to make this possible.

When we were in hospital having Gypsy, we tried hard to stay as positive as we could, a comfort to Annika was knowing she had prevented another mum/ family going through the heartbreak we were going through, naively not knowing that 17 babies in the uk die every day.

Now we are becoming stronger with our loss, which has been helped by the birth of our very healthy son Nathaniel we would like to try and help families once more.

We have decided to do "“ The "˜Tabular Hills Walk' "“ it just seems right! The Tabular Hills walk runs between Helmsley and Scarborough (passing through farmland, moorland and forest. Its  48 miles long. ) Scarborough being where Gypsy was born and Helmsley being where she is now at rest.

If you would like to support us and join us on this walk for a day, an hour or the whole thing please let us know.  So far it is both of us, and 3 others.
