When an unbelievable tragedy happens to someone near and dear to your heart, the first thing that loved ones want to offer is help. While there are many different versions of why help is needed, financial stress is the most prevalent when it comes to a situation like this. Many have heard of the devastating news regarding Jim and Corinne Johnson but many others haven’t yet either. Jim and Corinne were traveling together to a family member's house on Thanksgiving afternoon. As they drove along I-94 a wrong way driver that was fleeing from the police hit them head on and unfortunately Jim did not survive the collision. Corinne is currently in critical condition on a ventilator fighting for her life with Malarie and Jacob by her side. She has numerous extensive injuries that will cause many orthopedic reconstructive surgeries so her fight moving forward isn’t going to be an easy one to say the least. Malarie and Jacob had an abrupt change to their lives to cope, grieve and plan their beloved Father’s funeral while knowing their Mother is battling for her life at the same time and won’t be able to attend her husband's funeral. Jacob uprooted his life and job from up north so he could be with his Mom and Malarie during this unfathomable time. Corinne is at a hospital 40 miles from Malarie’s home so the gas alone is taking an added financial toll on these two. All money raised will be sent directly to Malarie for her and Jacob to use for their needs during this time including funeral costs for Jim and medical bills for Corinne.
