Lauren's request after passing

Donation protected
We are starting this page so this beautiful young woman, Lauren, a mother, wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend can have a quality of life with her loving husband, Stewart and her baby girl, Sadie without worrying about finances.  Lauren is 26, a mother of a 20 month old daughter, a wife of less than a year and a social worker that has given to so many and worked with homeless children during her career.
For the last several months, Lauren has had some back pain and she contributed it to carrying and lifting her baby girl.  A few weeks ago she developed an ear infection that caused her to lose partial hearing in her left ear and she had Bell's palsy.  Two weeks ago she had some chest congestion and thought she had allergies and then bronchitis.  On Thursday morning,   March 17, just two weeks ago, Lauren got up and was having trouble breathing, she called her mother-in-law to come and get the baby and she went to the emergency room.  They did chest x-rays and other test and determined that she had pneumonia.  They decided to keep her over night in the hospital as her heart rate was too fast, her blood pressure was low and she had a fever.  That night her breathing worsened and she was moved to the ICU.  She had a rough day on Friday and struggled to breathe and her vital signs were not good, so by Saturday she was placed on the ventilator to assist her with breathing and to let her body rest.  Sunday was  an okay day but she was restless.
On Monday the pulmanologist decided to do a bronchoscope because she was not doing as well as they thought she should on the ventilator.  While doing the procedure he found a large mass in her right upper lung.  Biopsies were taken and we then waited until Wednesday for the results.  Her husband, Stewart never left her side and her parents where there also for support and help.  Stewarts parents were caring for the baby, Sadie.  Tuesday she came off of the ventilator  but still has respiratory issues and extremely weak.  On Wednesday Lauren and Stewart received the news that her mass was malignant (cancer) and at this point were hoping she could have her lung removed and be ok.  They continued to do some body scans and pelvic scans to make sure because the type of cancer that the mass was, Ewing Sarcoma, was normally a childhood cancer and started in the bones. It was rare to see it in someone this age. Thursday she got to hold her baby girl for the first time in a week, tears were flowing from all of us.  Friday was the biggest blow, as they had sent her biopsies off to two other labs for confirmation.  She was sent to the OR to have a port placement to start chemotherapy.  When coming out of recovery Lauren and Stewart were given the bad news that she also has NUT Midline Carcinoma.  Both of these cancers are rare and extremely hard to treat.  She was then told the cancer was in her bones and lymph nodes.  She and Stewart were told she had 3-6 months to live.  So she is not just facing one but two types of cancer.
So now this is what they face, Lauren fighting for her life, Stewart having to care for her as she is very weak and they still have to take care of Sadie.....the three of them need and want to spend as much time as possible together.  Lauren has a wish to take Sadie to see the ocean for the first time.  Stewart needs to be home, not work,  so he can care for Lauren, as their time is limited.  They need their little family together.  Lauren is writing Sadie letters, making recordings and memories for her first day of school, her first date, when she graduates from high school, when she goes to college, when she gets married and when she has her first child.  Stewart is worried about supporting and caring for his two precious girls, Lauren and Sadie.
We are asking for donations so this little family can spend as much time together as possible without financial worry at this time.  They still have rent, utilities and basic needs to pay for, let alone to grant some wishes that Lauren has.  Lauren is a kind, compassionate woman who is more concerned about Sadie and Stewart than herself.
If you feel the need, the compassion, Please contribute as in the end, there will be other expenses but for now we want them to be worry free about daily living and making memories with the time Lauren has left.
Lauren, Stewart, their parents, and their families will be forever grateful for your contributions in making this last journey the best it can be.
