Two Very Sick Dogs

My name is Chris Hayes. I’m a medically retired combat engineer veteran of OEF. Those of you who know me, know that I’m not a person that can easily ask for help and for me to be making this account means that I am truly in a desperate situation to try and save my dogs lives just as they’ve saved mine.

both dogs are currently being treated and kept at VCA Northwood Animal Hospital in Anderson, IN for seizures that were a result of ingesting mold from a dead animal.

Mikah, (black lab 1 year old,) is in critical condition after suffering a seizure so bad that it could only be controlled using anesthesia and maxing out doses of muscle relaxants. She is making small improvements now to where she can wag her tail and slowly lift her head, but she is still very weak. 

Bandit, (German Shepherd 5 years old,) is in better condition than Mikah, but still requires 24 hour attention and medication.

Both of these dogs have helped me through some of the toughest times in my life from Bandit helping me with my PTSD and Depression, to Mikah helping me get past my recent divorce and I really need to be able to help them through this just as they’ve helped me. I won’t go into too many specifics, but I am very down on my luck right now with things happening one after the other after the other and then this happening to both of my dogs. I can’t afford to pay for their bills and medication. I was told a rough estimate of around $4,000. I’m asking for a total of $5,000 because there will be ongoing care and follow ups needed. 

please don’t think that I am just throwing this out there and hoping for the best. I’m selling basically everything that I can of mine to help pay any of the bills that I can. I’m just asking if you can donate anything at all, I will be truly grateful. I don’t expect free money so if you are able to donate anything at all and have work that needs to be done around your house or anything like that to where I can earn your donation, I will gladly and gratefully do it. I just desperately need help saving my dogs. Thank you,
