<div>We are Sarah and Eleonore Moll, non-identical twins, born January 9, 2000, in Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands. We grew up in a family where respect for every human being, regardless of background, colour, or belief, was not a value taught but simply lived. We were raised to believe that each person has something meaningful to contribute, and that knowing what you can give, and giving it with conviction, is what makes a life worthwhile.

<div>We are writing to you today not for ourselves, but for the two people who built that foundation in us.
</div>

</div>
<div>In 2010, our mother Eveline, then 45 years old, was diagnosed with breast cancer. It arrived without warning and changed everything. What followed were surgeries, chemotherapy, and months of treatment. It was grueling. But our family held together, and so did she. We came through it, wiser than we wished to be, but deeply grateful for the care she received and the life that continued.

<div>Then in 2017, our father Maurice received an early diagnosis of rectal carcinoma. Once again, the early detection was a gift, and once again, we found ourselves on the other side , changed, but whole.
</div>

<div>These experiences shaped us. They taught us what matters. And they led both of us to work in ways that give something back, because we knew, firsthand, what it means to receive help when it counts most.
</div>

</div>
<div>We did not expect fate to come for our family a third time. But at the end of May 2026, within 24 hours of each other, both of our parents received new cancer diagnoses. This time, two rare and aggressive cancers. This time, the stakes are higher than anything we have faced before.
</div>

</div>
<div>Our father Maurice has been diagnosed with <strong>Stage 4 Metastatic Leiomyosarcoma (LMS)</strong>, a rare and aggressive soft tissue sarcoma located in the retroperitoneal region, behind the abdominal lining. He is currently under treatment at a leading university hospital in the Netherlands, where he is being cared for by an exceptional specialist team.

<div>Twenty-four hours later, our mother Eveline received her diagnosis: <strong>cholangiocarcinoma</strong>, a rare, aggressive tumor of the bile ducts within the liver. In her case, the tumor is located at the liver hilum (the junction where the left and right bile ducts exit the liver). She is also under treatment at the same university hospital, in the hands of a dedicated team of surgeons and gastroenterologists.

<div><strong>We have been through this before. We know what hope looks like, and how tears feel when they grow. We also know that for rare, aggressive cancers like these, the difference between good care and the best care in the world can be the difference between months and years.</strong>

<div>That is why we are reaching out! Please come to our aid.

<div>For our father, Maurice, we are seeking access to the world's leading specialists in leiomyosarcoma, starting in Houston, Texas (United States), home to some of the world's leading cancer treatment and research institutions. We want every possible option on the table. Not because we have given up on the care he receives at home, but because we refuse to stop asking whether there is something more that can be done.

<div>Every patient who reaches such an institution, such as one in Houston, every case that is studied, every treatment plan that pushes at the edge of what is known, that knowledge does not disappear. It becomes part of the record. It informs the next patient, the next trial, the next breakthrough. We genuinely believe that supporting access to world-class care for rare cancer patients is not just an act of compassion , it is an investment in the future of medicine itself.
