Malawi Twin Seedling Program and Eco Education

On June 16th of this year, I am going to be spending a month of my life in a small country of Southeastern Africa called Malawi. Malawi has been heavily affected by the detriments of deforestation due to large scale agricultural expansion. I am hoping to raise money to promote environmental awareness to the local communities by teaching sustainable gardening practices, developing a tree nursery, and helping with proper recycling practices. Another very exciting program that I am hoping to fund is called the twin seedling program. For every baby that is born at the local hospital, we give a seedling to the new mother, so that the baby and the seedling can grow up together. Each seedling is approximately $4.25, so the money that is being raised will go towards the number of seedlings that we can purchase and the education of the local communities on environmental awareness.
