Active Jan for Mind and The Shakespeare Hospice

This January, I’m aiming to raise funds for two charities, Mind and The Shakespeare Hospice to raise awareness for mental health, and the grieving process many of us go through.

I have been inspired by RED January with their fundraiser of empowering people to be active every single day of January. Whether this is a short walk around the block, a half an hour jog or an hour-long workout session, I am determined to be active every day of January to not only raise money, but to highlight the goodness taking care of yourself can bring

It’s going to be challenging at times, especially as I have fibromyalgia and ME, but Mind help so many people each and every day. On a more personal level, The Shakespeare Hospice helped my family in mum's final days, as well as an incredible amount with dealing with the grief afterwards which really improved my mental health. I will be splitting the donations in half, making sure that a bigger and a smaller charity are benefitting from me pushing myself!

About Mind:

“We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Today. Now. We’re on your doorstep, on the end of a phone or online. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner. And we’ll push for a better deal and respect for everyone experiencing a mental health problem.”

About The Shakespeare Hospice:

“The Shakespeare Hospice is an independent care centre. It provides dedicated palliative care and support and its constant aim is to maximise quality of life.”

Thank you all so so much for any support with this and any donation, no matter how small. I really hope to give back just a little of the support I’ve been given in the past, and to hopefully help others in their mental health journey
