Hello everyone,
Here's a little insight to who I am............38 yrs of age, married with two kids and living in Barbados.
I was diagnosed with a large lipoma in March, 2016 and doctor recommendations were that it be surgically removed. I had MRI scans done in Trinidad as there were no accomodating machines in Barbados and I followed through on having the surgery done there as well.
The surgery was unsuccessful. The electric knife malfunctioned during surgery and another knife had to be sourced from a nearby hospital. This caused significant blood loss and no transfusion was given after.
It is obvious that the tumour was not removed in its entirety as the lipoma has since regrown and is now comparable in size to a soccer ball.
This makes it very uncomfortable when sitting and lying down. It continues to grow at a rapid pace and is situated very near to the spine. It is urgent that I get the best care, therefore I am seeking to travel to Mayo Clinic for treatment.
Your assistance will greatly be appreciated. Every donation is very valuable and will assist in corrective treatment being done so I can be the husband and father I should be.
