Q: Who are we?
A: Tri-Valley Quarter Midget Association (TVQMA) is a non-profit organization that is run and staffed by family volunteers. Kids (both girls and boys) ages 5 through 17 years old work to develop physical skills such as coordination, timing, alertness, and mechanical theory. In addition, internal strength is developed through sportsmanship, self- confidence, self-reliance, accomplishment, and recognition by competing for trophies and awards. This organization is proud to offer a family-oriented activity that offers the thrill of motorsports competition. We are the Little League of Nascar and Indycar, and our drivers are living their dream!
Q: Why this fundraiser and why now?
A: Because $65,000 is a staggering amount of money
After an in-depth review of what we thought was going to be a financially manageable project, it was determined that a complete replacement and repair of the subsurface was going to be required. Granted, we have done our utmost over the years to maintain the track in good, safe racing conditions, but over time, too many sections have become vulnerable and are failing beyond the temporary measures we are capable of providing. The track needs to be replaced in 2021 if we are to have a race season for our drivers!
Our operating income comes from membership dues paid by our families. This income is what keeps the lights on (literally). The remainder of our income comes from sponsors, donors, entry fees for our race events, and, of course, from the families. While our club has managed to maintain a positive operating budget over the 26 we have been in existence, COVID impacts have affected us both deep and wide, as it has with everyone. Our fundraising attempts have been successful but they are on a small scale compared to what we need now. The club, our families, our community, our sponsors, and our supporters have all been affected this year beyond our imaginations. Outside of raising funds, the cost falls back onto our families and that is an assessment that would take away choices and opportunities for our kids. We simply need help.
Q: How can I help?
A: The reality is that this fundraising goal can only be achieved by reaching out as far as we can to as many people as we can. Who do you know that wanted to be a race car driver when they were a kid? Is that person you, possibly? Do you have a kid that was born with Hot Wheels in each hand like our drivers were? Who do you know that has a passion for helping kids achieve their dreams? Who do you know that could benefit from a charitable contribution this year?
