Hi! My name is Celia and I’m a highschooler, I want to be a marine biologist and help the aquatic world as much as I can, I am organising this fundraiser to go on this volunteering trip in Florida to plant coral reefs and help turtles!! The ocean is 71% of the earths surface yet we have only explored 20% of the ocean, there are so many beautiful and dangerous species all important for the ocean’s survival, in other words our planet’s survival. Coral bleaching is happening due to climate change and overheating of the water, when a coral bleaches it expulses the seaweed that’s inside it, making it turn completely white. When this happens the coral usually dies because of the toxic seaweeds that eat it up. If the temperature doesn’t lower soon enough so many coral reefs will desapear. This destroys homes for millions of species and forces some species to extinct. I think that people have to start opening their eyes to the beauty and what’s happening underneath the earth.
