Turtle Island Lacrosse
Donation protected
Turtle Island Lacrosse believes that all people on Turtle Island deserve to experience the game of lacrosse and learn the cultural understanding of the sport. Founders and Current Professional Lacrosse Players Randy Staats and Brendan Bomberry of Turtle Island Lacrosse have developed a curriculum to provide groups and individual players with access to knowledge and experiences that they have gained during each stage of their careers. Spreading the knowledge of their culture as Haudenosaunee people and the game throughout Turtle Island and beyond is our ultimate goal.
Turtle Island Lacrosse is looking for donations to help offset the costs of equipment, nets, balls and travel as some of the indigenous communities don’t have the necessary means to hold a lacrosse camp. All though lacrosse is an indigenous game, not all indigenous people know about the game and the cultural values behind it. The hope is to inspire Indigenous youth from high risk and high poverty areas to show the roots of the game so that they see hope for them to use this game as a vehicle for success.
