<div>Because Grace's hibernation site was also home to other Wildlife at Risk, forcing the province to step in. However, the province may issue a permit for the filling after all: Current leadership has been dismantling fundamental protections for nature and animals for a few developers to pave paradise. The province points to creating new wetlands to "offset" the loss, but Grace's experience shows us that this experiment will result in many more irreversible losses to wildlife.

<div>Stay in touch with us, and help us with capacity to reach these goals- for staff to summarize our turtle research and to continue to track and monitor turtles and characterize essentials wetlands, floodlands, and headwaters, to assemble a guide for our councils and our communities, and to approach all local leaders in their need to do better for those with no voice.- the wildlife and wild spaces that provide us with so much benefit, from water regulation and filtration, fish breeding grounds, medicines, foods, pollination, to generations of keystone stabilizing forces such as turtles too!
