Tookurra Tuppence AKA “Tuppy”

Tuppy an inspiring little Aussie BC battler is seriously ill, she needs our love and support. She is undergoing neurosurgery for a life threatening brain condition on Wednesday 6 July 2022. Tuppy has hydrocephalus . It can be managed with surgical insertion of a shunt to drain excess fluid from her brain allowing her to live a near normal life.

Paula Wachtel, her mummy and breeder from the Riverina in South Australia needs our help and support with Tuppy’s medical costs. The procedure is estimated to cost approximately $20,000.

At birth and throughout her first few weeks, Tuppy fought hard to survive, Paula had many sleepless nights. Now 1yo, she thoroughly enjoys her life despite some residual brain damage.

Tuppy inspires us with her abilities and joy of the simple things in life – like her affectionate nature, swimming with her floaties, playing with her toys and sleeping in her PJs. Tuppy is a credit to Paula and her dedication and integrity as a breeder.

Paula breeds some of the best Border Collies in Australia- show, obedience, flyball and agility champions. But most of all her dogs are our best friends and constant companions. A number of Paula’s dogs have been exported overseas and have competed successfully at shows like Crufts (UK) - Tookurra Trick or Treat owned by Kerstin Rabl (Austria) aka Clyde is a multination champion.

Paula puts her heart, soul and commitment into her dogs. The owners of her puppies become part of an extended family. Tuppy is so special Paula chose to keep her and she lives as a pampered companion and house dog.
