Tulsa ArtCar Weekend 2018

Why ArtCars?
  ArtCars are Innovative American FolkArt.
The Joy of surprise is their charm. It's reflected in the faces of the people passed on the street. Faces light up everywhere they go. ArtCars are Driven.
Where Fun measured in smiles per gallon.
For over a dozen years Tulsa ArtCar Weekend has brought Wild and Wonderful ArtCars to Tulsa during the largest regional Art Festivals. May 17-20.
This year, 2018 the Raymond and Bessie Kravis Foundation and Living Arts Tulsa have chosen not to assist us this year. We need Your Help to raise money in order to continue this beloved Tulsa Tradition.
Our volunteer committee has organizes and produces this Wonderous multi faceted Event.  Year after year, we have brought in Cutting Edge ArtCars and Artists from around the globe and provided them entertainment, room, board and travel in the form of Artist $tipends. Our committee members are Artists, Enthusiasts and Enablers. They not only donate our time and talent but, often give money as well.
Each year we have granted money to build local ArtCars and provided Guest "Cartist" Workshops to share construction and design techniques.
We start a week early with a children's ArtBoxCar workshop at Philbrook museum.  We have a Thursday reception party at Liggett Studio, Friday morning brings community tours in which we visit schools and group homes in the community.  Then we display between Bluedome and Mayfest Art Festivals. Interspersed are photo ops, local caravans, ArtBoxCar parade and impromptu visits. Saturday night is the Burning Car Ball a public party and cookout with Live music, a car effigy bonfire, fire spinners and firecracker hat performances.
More information,  photos and videos of past events available on Facebook ArtCar Tulsa and YouTube.
We are pending 501c3 umberella chainitable status but likely will not have it by festival time.  April 1st is our deadline to know how many participants we can invite.
     Thank You for you consideration!
We believe that "Art should Move You!"
