Tullow RFC 3G Pitch

Tullow R.F.C was founded in 1928, but it had a very stop start existence over the following thirty years or so. It wasn't until 1971, when it was reformed under a more sound footing, that it took a deep root in the community.
Since 1971 the club has made some massive improvements to its facilities with the purchase of its own grounds, a fine club house facility, the addition of new dressing rooms in the early 2000's and now the time has come to make another huge investment with the addition of a 3G pitch. We will start this work in the first week of March when we will replace the existing training pitch with a state of the art 3G full size rugby pitch. This year the club has over 500 playing members from U7's up to senior level. Unfortunately this year has seen one of the worst spells of weather for many a year and this has rendered our training pitch unusable for the past month, the consequences being cancelled training sessions and cancelled games at all levels. Our new facility will overcome this problem and provide a safer area for all our teams to play and train. We will also make our new facility available to other sporting organisations and schools in our area.
Whilst the club has secured funding from from the Carlow LEADER programme implemented by Carlow County Development Partnership CLG we still need to raise funds to do ancillary works not covered by grant aid and also to purchase equipment to maintain the new pitch surface.
Our goal is to raise €30,000 through the GoFund me platform and we are calling on past and present members to show their support for Tullow RFC and donate.
