Tullamore Lions Club is a community based voluntary organization established in 1975, and is part of the world’s largest service organization. Our motto is ‘We Serve’, and since our establishment 45 years ago, the Lions Club has undertaken numerous fundraising projects and has raised €1.5 million (approx.) with the support of our local community. These funds have been used primarily to meet a very wide variety of local needs which would not be funded in a timely manner from any other source. In addition to our Tullamore Annual the Lions Club is possibly best known for our Christmas Food Appeal where through the kindness of donations from the people of Tullamore and the surrounding area we are able to provide Christmas hampers to over 140 families in need every year.

Outside of Christmas, we support many other community groups in need of funds and respond financially to individual needs and local causes. In the past few years we have provided support to many local organisations including the Simon Community, the Offaly Wheelchair association and Tullamore Special Olympics and Tullamore Community Games. We also support projects that promote and encourage our youth to get involved in charitable projects such as the SHS Special Needs Project and Colaiste Cholim’s India Immersion Project. The Lions Club supports national and international needs and is currently making a sizable contribution to Self Help Africa to help farmers to improve their crop diversity and seed quality, to make their future more secure, and the Lions Club is the driving force behind the Hooves4Hospice project here at home.
