Tuition for University At Albany

Hello all! I am currently in the process of transferring to the University At Albany. After spending two years at Hudson Valley discovering what career path interests me, I graduated with an A.S.  in Human Services. Last semester, I had the opportunity to intern at the Albany Damien Center, an organization dedicated to advocating for and assisting people living with HIV/AIDS.  After this field experience, I have realized that my future most certainly involves the helping professions. 

I am currently in the process of applying for the Baccalaureate of Social Welfare program, with interest in the advanced standing MSW program.  At HVCC I graduated with a GPA of 3.92 and I hope to continue my education in February 2021.  I have plans of getting a Master's degree in Social Work with an interest in clinical practice.  In my career I hope to address the mental health issues of diverse individuals as well as work toward ending the stigma of mental health issues.  Through my education, I will have the knowledge and tools to address the needs of others--on a community and individual level. 

Unfortunately, I have run into issues in paying for tuition at UAlbany and as a result I have been sending essay after essay to different outside scholarships.  I decided to make this fundraiser to help pay for books and the parts of my tuition that I cannot get aid for.  I currently am employed at Sally Beauty where I have been spending most of my winter break. 

If you can donate, that is so amazing and I appreciate it! However, I do not expect anyone to do so.  My issues with financial aid may seem small in comparison to others. However, my dedication to my academics has always been something I have great pride in.  Any support in my academic endeavors--whether words of encouragement or donations--I will humbly accept.
