Building a Medical Clinic in Haiti

Greetings Friends & Family,

As some of you may know, I went to Haiti last year with a small group from church to help build a medical clinic.  Our group will be traveling again this year to the town of Desarmes where we hope to complete the wall around the clinic.  Once the wall is completed, the clinic will be opened to the people of Desarmes.   This is a HUGE deal.  Currently, there are no medical services in town.  Anyone seeking medical service must travel 4 hours into Port-Au-Prince.  

We will be staying 8 days to help with the project.  We are asking for donations to help complete this project to help the people of Desarmes.  Below is a list of expenses and total cost of our trip.  If your able to help by donating to our project, you would be helping a wonderful & happy group of people
who desperately need health care.   

If we exceed our goal of $2000.00 we will donate all remaining funds to sponsoring a child to go to school.  Scroll past expenses for sponsoring a child.

$500 Project Fee to pay for the construction of a front and rear security wall at the clinic.  This fee includes all materials, construction workers, and worker lunches.

$40 For extra luggage paid to airline

$30 Health/ Travel Insurance paid to US insurance company before we leave

$20 Haiti Entry Fee/ Airport Fees & Baggage handling tips

$115 Transportation Fees including transport and driver

$400 Lodging Fees includes food and water

$180 Interpreter fees including interpreter's services, food, water, and lodging

 $100 Staff tips (Drivers, cooks, host, etc.)

$50 Emergency/ unexpected costs

Hi everyone, 

My dad has been over in Haiti helping families build, paint, talk, and help with all their needs since October 2nd with his church. He has been making posts about his experience and how blessed he is to be over there helping these people. They recently visited their school and took the names of children who do not have the money to finish/go to school. They are wanting to sponsor those children who can't afford it. They need sponsors for 15 [email redacted] for the year. This covers all school costs for a year. Tuition, backpack and books. Uniform cost is extra 50.00 and includes shoes! Anything will help and add up to their goal! Thank you for your time and donations. 

"We made our way down to the clinic and painted. After a few hours we walked across the way to the school. Very small cinder block building (about 900 sqft) divides into 4 classes, open with metal roof. The kids go to school about 7 am and r out by 1230-1:00pm do to the heat. The grades r broken up Kindergarten preK, 1-4, 5-7, 8-9.  We met with the head master. U see this school is only for those who can afford to go to school. Tuition for each child is 350.00 per yr. most can’t afford to go. We wrote down the names of the children who needed financial help and those that were behind in tuition and were no longer attending do to finances. After writing all the names down we went into each class and took pictures of each child that need assistance to put together a bio to get sponsorship to attend school. After we gathered the info we finished up our day at the clinic and went back to the compound followed by our usual group of kids which has been growing by the day."
