Medical Bills for Tuesday the Pug

On Friday, March 3 we noticed that our beloved pug Tuesday, was asking to be let outside to go potty far more often than usual. When we let her out, we were devastated to see that her urine had turned the snow pink, indicating blood.

Despite the snow storm, we rushed Tuesday to the vet first thing the following morning. We were hoping that the vet would examine her, test for a UTI, give us some meds, and we'd be on our way, with a happy Tuesday in tow. However that is not what happened. Upon an examination and x-rays, the vet found that her bladder was filled wall to wall with stones. We immediately scheduled surgery to have them removed.

On Tuesday, March 6, during the procedure to have the stones removed, Tuesday had a severe reaction to the anesthesia causing her blood pressure to drop dangerously low and she eventually stopped breathing. Our vet immediately ended the surgery and revived Tuesday. But unfortunately, she was unable to remove all the stones, and a final stone was left where it had wedged itself in the opening of her urethra from her bladder.

Our vet personally drove her to the nearest animal hospital where they admitted her immediately. She was kept overnight for observation, sedated, and inserted with catheter.

On Wednesday, March 7 after various tests and X-rays to determine the best course of action, Tuesday was once again put under anesthesia to have the final stone removed. The surgery was a success and she will stay an additional night for observation to ensure a full recovery.

We are so completely relieved that she is going to be okay. But due to all the complications that arose, the additional testing, multiple surgeries, and overnight stays, her bill has grown to be over $5,000. We are hoping our friends and family can help her, even in the smallest way.

Tuesday is an extremely special pug, not only to me and our family, but to her tens of thousands of followers on instagram and twitter. She is an advocate and spokespug for pug and animal rescue, and through the years has raised thousands of dollars for various recuses and needy pugs. Now she is the one that needs help and we would do anything for her.

Asking for financial support is an extremely difficult plea, and I am just so grateful for the emotional support we have already received. Thank you in advance for every and any penny, nickel, dime, quarter or dollar you can donate to our dear Tuesday.

All our puggy love,
Kristen and Tuesday the Pug
