Help Matt get back on his feet

Matt Reagan is a father, brother, and friend who needs our support in a time of need. Like many of us at this time Matt is struggling. Unlike most of us though work is no longer an option for Matt. He worked all his life “building buildings”. Though he loved construction work he was injured multiple times to the point that it left him largely disabled. Never one to ask for help or want to be seen as unable he continued working long past when many people would have called it quits. He did odd jobs and worked for friends until he truly couldn’t anymore. In January he finally began the very long and painful process of applying for disability benefits. He has been working with a dedicated case worker ever since. Currently he is awaiting an appointment with a pulmonologist. Unfortunately, due to Covid he has no idea of when that will be. Without disability he has no safety net. His landlord has been kind and gracious but he relies on rent and with Matt behind he is never sure that he will have a roof over his head. He has struggled to keep on his water, gas, and electricity. He has lost precious family heirlooms in storages he couldn’t continue paying for. He has had to pawn his beloved records. He’s been hospitalized multiple times during the pandemic. He’s been in contact with churches and other local organizations to try to get aid in any way other than this. All this to say, he has tried to make it on his own but he needs people to rally around him and provide a safety net so that he can focus on staying healthy rather than worrying he will be on the streets. Please know that this is incredibly embarrassing to a man who absolutely hates asking for help and fiercely guards his privacy. It is a testament to his situation that he agreed to let his loved ones do this. We understand that everyone is struggling but if you have anything to give Matt and his loved ones would forever be grateful. Stay well and God bless.
