Help a single mom rebuild after fire

Hi, my name is Crystal, and I work at an elementary school in Albuquerque, NM. The school we work at is all about community and taking care of one another. When one of us struggle, we all do what we can to help out. We are now asking for our extended community, both near and far, to do what we can’t do alone. 

She is a single mom to a 10-year-old girl. Her daughter is a 4th grader at our school. She also works as an educational assistant in a 1st-grade classroom. She and her daughter were living with family before a fire broke out on October 28, 2022, and they lost everything. Luckily everyone made it out alive, but they are starting over again, trying to rebuild their lives. They have been living in a hotel and trying to save money for an apartment, but her car transmission went out soon after Thanksgiving. She then started staying with another co-worker so that she could save money and was able to get to and from work. She has finally found an apartment, and with the help of our community, we are slowly finding items needed to furnish her apartment. What she will need now is to raise funds to help fix or replace her car. It will be towed tomorrow to a mechanic to see if the transmission is replaceable and what else needs to be fixed to be safe and reliable. We know the transmission alone is around $2k and may need additional work. We are trying to raise as much as possible to either help with the repair cost or to replace the vehicle altogether.
