Hey guys! As some of you may know, over the last few summers, I began fostering bottle baby kittens. The first set of kittens I fostered were from MADACC, and they were only 7 days old. Unintentionally, I fell absolutely in love with them. So, I adopted both of them. We kept both of the sweet, handsome boys and named them Jack & Milo.

Last week, while I was up in school in Oshkosh, my mom noticed that Milo began to limp randomly. She quickly made an emergency vet appointment without telling me because she knows Milo is my baby and didn't want me to worry while I was away at school. They initially just thought that his knee had popped out of socket, but after taking multiple x-rays, they noticed that his hip also had popped out, resulting in the diagnosis of Hip Dysplasia. Hip dysplasia is not very common in cats but is common in dogs, which means that the hip joint hadn't developed normally, causing the hip to be loose and continue to pop out of socket.

After making many calls, receiving his x-rays, and getting many second opinions, the vet recommends a hip surgery. As of now, Milo isn't allowed to play or jump around. When Milo runs or gets up from taking a cat nap, his hip is out of place, resulting in him not being able to use his leg to walk. He just hobbles under the table to hide until it goes back into place. With Milo only being 1 year old, I think surgery would be the most appropriate because most cats recover fully after this procedure.

An estimate for the procedure is between $2,500-$3,500. With this being around the holidays and continuing to be in school full-time while working only part-time, I hope you can find it in your heart to share and donate if you can. Milo is my soul animal and I would do absolutely anything for him.
