Medical Mission Trip! MY DREAM!

As most of you are aware, I have always aspired to be a Trauma Surgeon. This is my final year at FAU and I would love the opportunity to gain some clinical experience before medical school and help others, and I have been given a chance to redeem my request; a week in Ghana, Africa!!! This mission trip is from May 5th to May 13th through Florida Atlantic University. We will be required to go through medical training prior to the trip and our goal includes clinicals, teaching, construction, and public health.
The week in Africa will have us traveling to different clinics everydays, and work within rural Ghanaian communities. In many of these areas, there is a shortage of trained medical professionals, and we will help provide some basic healthcare services including dentistry, midwifery and nursing fields. Among these tasks, we will also help improve the infrastructures of small communities with renovations including painting, bricklaying, plastering, digging, block shaping, carpentry, etc. Not only will this week provide these rural areas with a chance to have a week with ample health care volunteers (ME!!!!), and renovations, but we will also help design effective teaching workshops to keep the benefits flowing after we leave.
Given this chance, I would love to have the possibility to learn from this experience and the people I come into contact with while I'm there. This isn't just an occasion for me, but also an opportunity to help many more, and provide a cascade benefits for small communities found in Ghana.
Please!!! Anything at all will help me. This is my last opportunity for any field time and a learning experience before medical school, and I honestly would love to be able to help others, and learn from this experience. Some lessons, as most of you know, you have to experience to learn, and I would love this experience!
