Jax is our 4 year old Doberman. He is literally the sweetest dog you will ever meet! Many of you that see this know Jax, and know how much of a lover his is. Everybody loves this this big guy. He is like a child to me and my wife Lis, and we will go to the ends of the earth to help him. He is the most loyal and loving companion and protector. In June we learned Jax has heart disease, luckily in the beginning stages but still costs a ton of money to maintain. We were feeling good that we caught this early and we would be able to get many years out of him with the right treatment. Then on Thursday, September 24th he started limping and crying. We took him to the vet and got him some pain meds thinking he just pulled a muscle or sprained something. On Sunday, he took a bad turn. He couldn't turn his neck and we could tell he was in a great deal of pain. We took him back in, (Today, Sunday September 27th) for X-rays. The vet gave us heart breaking news. Jax has wobblers disease which is a Degeneritive spinal disease that effects many Dobermans, in his case causing 2 herniated disc's. He is in a great deal of pain, and the pain is hard to manage because they can only give him certain kinds of meds due to his heart disease. At this point, it looks like the only option is surgery, because putting our sweet boy down is NOT an option. Surgery is in the range of 7-10k. Plus the costs of therapy and rehab. We are not ones to normally ask for money. In fact it embarrasses me. But right now Jax needs help. We have already spent a huge amount of money at the vet with more to come. We will do whatever it takes. Please help us with Jax, any little bit of money will help. I know the 10k goal is large, but we will be happy with any amount.
