Trust & College fund for Gavin and Logan

Our daughter/sister/mother/friend Heather passed away too soon on 6/30/2022. We want to make sure that her kids are taken care of because that’s what we know that she would want most. Anything helps and we appreciate everyone for being there for us and our family. This money will be put in a trust fund only to be able to be accessed by Gavin and Logan when they turn of age.

Here are words written by Heather’s dad Randy that perfectly describes Heather and her love for everyone and everything:

It is of our deepest sorrow and regret to have to write and post about loosing our beautiful daughter who was taken away from us suddenly on June 30th 2022. At the young age of 33.

Any of you who knew her, knew that she was an outgoing wonderful person not only to listen to, but to be around. Her witty off the cuff jokes and joyous laughter will not be forgotten.

She enjoyed so many things life had to offer. Scuba diving, camping, hiking, boating, water skiing, golfing, basically anything that had to do with the Great Outdoors. We we're so glad to have helped shape her into the person that she became. She was only 6 months older than the youngest person to have ever hiked to the top of Mount Leconte. She was fearless which sometimes scared her mother and I. She loved singing, she even played the guitar. Music in general all kinds. From the 30s and 40s which she listened to with her grandfather to modern-day music. Her love for music was a lot like her love for everyone.

She started out into her career world with ambitions to be a nurse, she received her CNA at Carmel high School and went on to pursue a nursing career which included a year at ivy tech. During her schooling she worked at several different nursing facilities. And one of her favorites was a nursing home. Unfortunately, she got very close to her patients and this took a toll on her and it weighed heavily on her heart. She worked at several other facilities in the nursing business. And in between jobs she always came to work at the toy shop. And started to show a deeper interest in it. And soon realized her interest for toys was outgrowing her interest for nursing.

When her grandmother who was the bookkeeper and my confidant could not work anymore at the ripe old age of 86. Heather decided she would like to take her place. Grammy loved teaching Heather how to do her job. And she took on the responsibility very fast. She soon was answering the phones and getting to know customers personally. She brought New Life and passion into the toy shop.

She was a born leader. She was never afraid to voice her opinion. She loved taking control and making decisions and we soon realized she was better at it than we were. I'll never forget when she said, after I came back from one of our Florida winter toy shows tours. And she said Dad I love you but this place only has room for only one boss. And so I knew it was time because I just got fired! We always joked about that.

With the help of her brother standing by as her confidant they began to transform the toy shop. They expanded into repairing warranty toys for modern day companies like Power Wheels. Trying new things never discouraged her.

She then got her auctioneering license and had to leave her babies for 2 weeks for schooling. She got through it with the help of FaceTime visits with their children. And then pass the state exam just last year. And her Facebook toy talk episodes that she faithfully held every Friday had a great following with more and more people tuning in every week. She traveled around to different locations to make her episodes more and more exciting. Who knows where this might have taken her. She even talked to some national television companies who wanted to do some pilot shows.

She did all this while still managing to be a fantastic mother for her two children being a great homemaker too.

Anyone that knows her knew that was her number one priority. Being a mother for her children Gavin (3) and Logan (1). She never failed to post all the joyous times they had together. And never failing to photograph or document it. She loved telling a stories of what the kids did that she used to do. She always told me look dad they have my toes. Which was something I always told her when she was little. She did her best to keep the kids active outside because those were some of the memories that she cherish most as a child. Camping in rain, snow and sleet, in just a tent when we first started. We are having several Catholic masses said for her. In the near future and some have already been said.

She will be remembered and missed by us deeply forever and ever. Please everyone send your prayers for this lovely person who was taken from us too soon.
