Trudy Fickle and Tami Swartz

Trudy(mother) has been fighting cancer for over 20 years. Lately, in the past couple of years her cancer is growing  slowly, but is now on her heart. Last July, Trudy was going to try a new chemo treatment. Well, the chemo treatment almost killed Trudy last November. The doctors, and all on her care team at Mayo in Rochester MN did a wonderful job in keeping her alive.  Tami(daughter) was there to help Trudy while she was at the hospitals in Rochester MN, and the  intense aftercare at home. Trudy was showing some improvements so Tami started back at work again. Well, we were warned that Trudy could back slid in her improvements because of the severity of what happened to her in November. Trudy did back slid in her health.   With the hospitals and business shutdowns made it even more difficult to get Trudy into the doctors to be seen or even getting lab work done. It was really difficult on Trudy going up and down the stairs. Tami  had to take time of work and used up all  her FLMA, vacation time, absent pay, options  to keep her job.  Tami had to stay home to be a full time care giver for Trudy, and there were no options of Tami being able to go back to work. Tami had to resign from her job to take care of Trudy (her mother).  The benefits will help us get a house that is easier for Trudy to get in and out of instead of  going up and down two sets of 15 steps.  This would help Tami with assisting Trudy easier and she won't  have to worry if Trudy is going to fall.  The benefits has helped us get a new vehicle to lease. This is great news!! Tami and Trudy don't have to worry about the vehicle breaking down and not working. Trudy was able to get in and out of the vehicle with ease. Trudy is also able to stay nice and warm on the drives back and forth to lab and Doctor appointments. We could really use the benefits before Thanksgiving of 2020.  It is very urgent. How much does this support mean to us? I do have to say this is the hardest thing I every had to ask for, and that is help. I worked so hard to provide for my family and the care of my mother.  It means the world to us to have the kind of support of friends, family, and people who are willing to give a  helping hand.  We would be so grateful for your kindness.  It would be beyond words could ever explain.
