Truck replacement to save pups

When we found out the most reliable way off her ranch was on horseback, we knew we needed to help. Jodie has been rescuing sick, injured and stray dogs on the Standing Rock Reservation and transporting them to Second Chance Animal Rescue  and Pooches United with People (PUP)  in Saint Paul for six years. She brings a truckload of dogs and takes back a truckload of dog food and dog bedding for the cold and hungry. All that work ground to a halt when the engine of her Avalanche gave out. Initially, we thought helping her purchase and install a new engine was the answer. However, after the mechanic went over her vehicle, it was clear that was not practical.

Her vehicle has 216,000 hard miles on it and getting it into safe and serviceable driving condition will cost at least $10,000.  Purchasing a used pickup with fewer miles and in better condition is a much better investment. We need to get Jodie back on the road so she can help us rescue dogs in great need.  Second Chance and PUP are spearheading this effort. We estimate about $14,000 will buy a solid used vehicle that will last many years and miles for Jodie. The sooner we can get Jodie up and running again, the sooner she can be back out rescuing animals in need.

Every dollar given to help purchase a vehicle for Jodie will help rescue dogs in need and help place them in loving homes.
