Troy's Burn Benefit

We had a bonfire on Saturday May 30th in the fire ring on our front patio. While playing outside Sunday afternoon, Troy fell in and burnt both his hands.

Tessany was there right away and pulled her brother out before he fell all the way in.

Alex rushed Troy to the ER in Detroit Lakes. They recommended us to the Hennipin County Burn Clinic.
We drove down on Monday morning assuming we would change the bandages and begin discussing a recovery plan. The news we received was much worse...

Troy was admitted for third degree burns Monday (June 1st) afternoon. He has a "good" hand (right) and "bad" hand (left). The good hand is mostly second degree burns with some third degree. This hand will heal well and Troy should have full dexterity. The bad hand is in rough shape. We are hopeful that with physical therapy he will be able to use this hand to good ability. 

Looking forward, Troy will experience a few surgeries. Both hand will need extensive 

Tessany is our hero. She not only saved her brother but is the one person who is able to calm him down when he is worked up. Thank goodness for technology so they can video chat.

Thank you for all of the well wishes and prayers we have received. Troy is a tough cookie.
