Tri-State to Kerala With Love

Kerala, a beautiful state in Southern India, famous for its beaches, backwaters, hills and lush vegetation, has been battered by unusually heavy rainfall this monsoon that has resulted in unprecedented flooding at levels not seen in 100 years!! 
Vast areas, especially in the central regions of the state, are completely submerged under water. According to the latest estimate, at least 324 people have died, 220,000 people have been displaced and thousands remain trapped in the water-logged areas. Unusually heavy rains over the last 2-3 weeks have triggered massive landslides resulting in torrential amounts of water sweeping through villages and destroying life.

This is the worst natural disaster crisis Kerala and its people have faced in a century. The state is experiencing an “extremely grave” crisis, with the highest flood warning in place in 11 of its 14 regions. Hundreds of thousands have lost their homes and several thousand, their livelihoods and life-savings. Money is needed acutely for relief work now and later for rebuilding infrastructure including schools and houses. The damages caused until now have been pegged at over 2.8 billion US Dollars by the Chief Minister of Kerala.
We kids, 12-17 years of age, along with our parents who hail from Kerala, have decided to raise money to help with this dire crisis that is still unfolding as we are writing this. Please know that all money collected will be transferred to the Kerala Chief minister's Distress Relief Fund (https://donation.cmdrf.kerala.gov.in/) every week.
