Help Tristan Tap Out Cancer...Again

While training for a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament, Tristan Mangindin began to experience pain and swelling in his right side. After his competition, doctors discovered a gigantic seminoma tumor in his right testicle, diagnosing him with Stage 1 Testicular Cancer. This is now Tristan's second battle with cancer, as he fought and defeated the same form of the disease back in 2006. Twelve years later, Tristan needs your help to fight, submit, and defeat cancer once again!
Tristan will undergo surgery to remove the cancerous testicle on Sept. 14th, 2018. After a week or two of recuperation, he will take on a round of chemotherapy, and hopefully a brief period of radiation treatment. As part of his long-term recovery, Tristan will require testosterone injections and implants, as well as close monitoring of his health regarding the area around the testicles and kidneys.
Between his family and friends in San Diego, Boston, and all over the country, he knows he has a vast network of support to help him through this fight, but he still needs your help to pay for many of the upcoming medical bills and related expenses. Many of these post-surgery treatments are not covered under his health insurance, and any contribution you can make towards his extended recovery and overall general wellness will be absolutely appreciated.
In addition, 10% of the amount Tristan raises will be donated to First Descents (FD), a non-profit organization that provides life-changing outdoor adventures for young adults impacted by cancer. Tristan was introduced to FD after his first bout with cancer, and is grateful for the incredible fellow survivors and fighters he has met along the way through this wonderful organization, not to mention the beautiful areas around the United States, such as in Colorado, Oregon, and Idaho, that he otherwise would not have been able to experience if it were not for First Descents. Tristan is truly, immensely grateful and blessed for the outpouring of support of he has received since his announcement that he was re-diagnosed. Between beating cancer already, losing 70 lbs and keeping it off, making drastic and tremendous health and lifestyle changes, and overcoming the damage from childhood resulting from sexual abuse and bullying, this is just another challenge in life that Tristan will overcome, and will be back in the office, teaching yoga, and back on the Jiu-Jitsu mat in no time!
