Trista and Dave Fundraiser

Approximately 11:15am on January 4th, while cooking breakfast, my sister and brother-in-law felt the wind pick them up and throw their RV home backward with them and their 2 mini aussies INSIDE! It was the scariest moment of their lives.
They tried running to the door in a panic and did not make it... trapping them inside. Their dogs were missing and their propane tanks were active at time of the flip.

They struggled in a panic flipping furniture before finding their dogs, scared but safe, in the rubble.

All exit windows were either blocked by the ground or now on the ceiling. The back window also inaccessible.

The industrial stairs trapped them from climbing out through the door due to high winds… they began screaming for help, hoping the propane doesn't explode with them inside.

Only 15 minutes before the tragedy, they had been outside AT THE BACK of their RV preparing for the wind… If it had flipped then, they would be dead.
If you have made it this far into their story, thank you. I will continue to post status updates of the progress of their situation.

This RV was their home. Their happy place. Their pride and joy, their full-time home. They are grateful to be here, alive and safe, but the aftermath of the loss is taking a drastic toll on them. Their home is still on its side 7 days later; cracked, broken, and drenched under the constant rain it has endured since it was flipped. They've had to watch their home crumble away from wind and water damage with no help from their insurance or the local tow company.

Dave and Trista have always been the first to jump in and help when folks are in need and I know they would never ask themselves, but I know they could use some support.

The red cross did provide some assistance with food and a hotel their first night or two which they greatly appreciated, however, the rest is up to them. Geico will reimburse some expenses, but nobody is ever prepared for a complete loss in a disaster. And, until their home is upright, Geico refuses to begin the claims process.

On this day 1/11, they have a tow company scheduled to upright their home and the insurance is supposed to cover the cost upfront, but if this tow truck company fails, we will be forced to get another company from Grants Pass who quoted $9000 just to come out.

Trista is the sole earner as her husband is a medically discharged Veteran. She had been out of work for the holidays and was set to go back the week their home was destroyed. Any financial assistance is to help them get a new home and hopefully, regain a sense of what was lost.
