Help Trisha Beat Cancer

In late November, Trisha thought she was having a severe migraine. But when the pain would not subside,  a CT scan at the ER revealed a mass on her brain. Days later, a biopsy following a six-hour surgery determined the mass to be malignant. Subsequent scans showed additional tumors in her left shoulder, pectoral, and armpit areas.

At 32 years old, Trisha was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma. 

Although she faces an uphill battle, Trisha is confident that the odds are ever in her favor.  Her first round of radiation begins January 7.  From there, she has been approved by Bristol Myers' charity program to receive the innovative, minimal-side-effect chemotherapy drugs recently credited for Jimmy Carter's recovery. She is under the excellent care of specialists at Duke. Most importantly, she is surrounded by support from her loving friends and family.

Trisha and Jerry are the devoted parents of an energetic 18-month-old, Erik. Trisha is also a dedicated volunteer and employee for two different organizations serving children--the Miracle League of the Triangle  and  St. Andrews UMC Preschool .

Trisha has always been a champion for the causes she believes in. Now it's time for us to champion her most urgent cause--beating cancer. In addition to her health concerns, she and her family are facing more than $150,000 in medical costs and lost wages.
